We seek a Senior WordPress Full-Stack Developer to deliver high-quality applications that meet user needs and business goals. We take an outcome-based approach and adopt agile practices like pairing, creative sprint planning, collaborative story handoffs between stakeholders, and regular feature demos to businesses. We work across multiple programming languages and adopt Test-Driven Development and Continuous Deployment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging WordPress plugins and integrations.
- You will design and develop complex WordPress plugins tailored to specific needs, ensuring high code quality and robust security practices.
- You will manage WordPress deployments in production, including using version control, planning and execution, and monitoring and optimising the deployments.
- You will be competent in theme management and development, making changes, and enhancing existing sites.
- Manage ongoing and new projects as they appear; plan sprints, manage deadlines with the team and communicate with various stakeholders.
- Optimise software for maintainability, quality, performance, security, and scalability.
- Reviewing code via Pull Requests to ensure the highest standards and safety and robustness of any new changes
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the team, setting clear expectations and objectives and taking ownership and responsibility for the WordPress area of the tech stack.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as design, user research, product management, and data engineering and data science, to deliver user-centric solutions.
- Work very closely with cross-functional scrum teams on various projects and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and users, understanding their needs and requirements.
- Contribute to the overall technology function regarding infrastructure, shared knowledge and continuous improvements.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
- 5+ years of experience in WordPress Code, system integration, web application, and platform development.
- 2+ years of working experience with PHP and MySQL.
- Exposure to large WordPress multi-site installations.
- Experience in both front and back-end development
- Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Experience with WordPress custom theme and plugin development
- Fundamental technical skills, including version control and software architecture.
- Familiarity with web hosting environments, deployments and server management.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Good To Have:
- Add on the advantage if you Contribute to WordPress or any open-source project.
- Exposure to GraphQL and HTTP APIs is desirable
- Exposure to hosting platforms such as WPEngine is desirable.
