Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will deliver high-quality applications that meet user needs and business goals. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining web software and cloud infrastructure using modern technologies and best practices. You will also provide technical guidance, mentorship, and feedback to other developers in the team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Strengthen our application and environment security by applying standards and best practices and providing tooling to make development workflows more secure.
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Create, maintain, and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services.
• Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms.
• Keep current on modern technologies and trends and advocate for their inclusion within products when necessary.
• Help increase system performance with a focus on high availability and scalability.
• Propose, scope, design, and implement various infrastructure architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the team, setting clear expectations and objectives.
• Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery.
• Continue to keep the lights on (day-to-day administration).
• Help define, document, and evolve high engineering standards and best practices across multiple areas.
   

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps / System Engineer.
• 3+ years of experience working with Cloud Platforms like AWS.
• 3+ years of experience working with Terraform.
• Experience in Linux Operating systems, containerised environments and Docker orchestration.
• Strong experience with technical architectural designs.
• Strong experience with various managed and self-hosted CI/CD tooling (GitLab).
• Hands-on Experience with any monitoring tools is a mandate( Preferably DataDog).
• Strong understanding of DNS, TCPDUMP, CDNS, SSL, Git, Firewalls and networking concepts (VPC, subnetting, VPNs, etc).
• Experience working on high-traffic, international systems.
• Good understanding of web applications and modern architectures.
• Databricks is good to have.
• Experience with CI/ CD for Monorepo is an added advantage.
• Any AWS Certifications are an added advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
