As a Data Scientist, you will enhance PEI's growth and achievement by improving the customer experience with intelligent, customised solutions. You will build models that drive impact for customers and impact your peers through mentoring and the dissemination of your ideas and principles.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop new or improve our current machine learning models and deploy them into production.
- Apply your expertise in analytics, data science, and data storytelling to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our products and communications and how those insights can inform our communication strategy.
- Guide and enable teams to measure things that matter; initiate or help run A/B experiments to keep improving everything we do.
- Liaise with engineers to ensure we collect the correct data to produce relevant business insights.
- Collaborate with various departments within the organisation, including product, editorial, and commercial, to leverage machine learning and analytics to uncover opportunities for optimisation.
- Carry out a deep analysis of the core aspects of how PEI works to understand the levers and propose opportunities to improve fully.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist is a must.
- At least 4+ years of experience writing production-quality code in Python and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of and experience using advanced statistical techniques in an applied setting.
- Hands-on experience in conducting A/B experiments.
- Are proficient with open-source data libraries (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, Scikit learn, etc.).
- Good experience with complexity & developing a holistic understanding of a system to propose & build solutions.
- Have a self-starter mindset; you proactively identify and tackle issues and opportunities without being told to do so.
- Are commercially minded and can put numbers into a business perspective
- Are as comfortable getting hands-on as taking a step back and thinking strategically
- Are a team player whom your colleagues can rely on.
- Have an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
- Have excellent presentation and communication skills and get excited to turn data into stories accessible to stakeholders.
Good to Haves:
- Knowledge of Pyspark/Ray for processing Big Data is desirable.
- Knowledge of Azure Databricks is good to have.
- Experience in the Digital Media domain is an added advantage.
- Cultural change/transformation experience.
- Good to have a Master Degree in the field of Data Science.
