Delivery Manager

The Delivery Manager is part of the Product team and is accountable for tracking the delivery of value within the team, identifying and managing issues and risks, and removing any impediments to the delivery of value. This role will work alongside the Product Manager to ensure the delivery process is optimised to deliver the next thing of value to our customers.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Owning end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives across product platforms, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Partnering closely with Product Managers to translate roadmaps and priorities into executable delivery plans.
- Managing sprint planning, delivery cadence, releases, and dependencies across cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
- Ensuring effective backlog readiness by working with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams to clarify scope, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria.
- Identifying, tracking, and mitigating delivery risks, impediments, and dependencies, escalating proactively where required.
- Coordinating with internal and external development teams and vendors to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Driving continuous improvement in delivery processes, agile practices, and team ways of working.
- Monitoring delivery metrics, velocity, capacity, and throughput to provide clear, data-driven reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensuring all delivery-related documentation, plans, and status reports are accurate, transparent, and up to date.
- Supporting QA and release activities, including UAT coordination, defect triage, and go-live readiness.
- Acting as a servant leader for delivery teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
- Working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with broader organisational objectives.
- Championing agile delivery best practices and helping evolve delivery frameworks across the organisation.
Key Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience working in agile / scrum delivery environments.
- 3+ years of experience in a Delivery Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with delivery and agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or similar.
- Scrum certified (PSM or CSM).
- Experience and knowledge of at least one of the following: Scrum, XP, Kanban
- Strong experience with the Software Development Lifecycle within the scope of web applications or software products, preferably within B2B or subscription-based businesses.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional, distributed, and remote teams.
- Solid understanding of agile delivery concepts, including MVPs, incremental delivery, backlog refinement, and release planning.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across varying seniority levels.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience working with external vendors and third-party development partners.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability without formal authority.
- Action-oriented, organised, pragmatic, and delivery-focused, with a strong customer and business mindset.
